  3. What is your favorite product to paint on using acrylic paints?

I have painted on various size canvases, boards, and types of paper over the years. I keep
returning to the 1.5-inch thick, level 3 canvases from Michael’s. The quality and convenience of
choosing this product works for me. The canvases come in various sizes and Michael’s
frequently has sales making the canvases very affordable. I like working on a primed canvas as
opposed to raw canvas. My acrylic paints adhere to the texture of this canvas nicely. An added
bonus is I can order online and have the canvases delivered to my door or I can drive to my
local store.

The one disadvantage to working on these canvases is the amount of space they take up in my
studio. At one point I switched to painting on paper since I had a very small studio space. My
favorite paper was a pad of Strathmore Acrylic paper. It comes with 10 heavy sheets of a linen
finish, acid-free paper. My only dislike of this paper was the glue adhering to the edge when I
removed it from the pad. I have not purchased this paper in a while, so maybe this has
improved. This pad of acrylic paper is also available at Michael’s.
